Sr. Accountant/ Systems Consultant

WJ Technologies currently has an exciting career opportunity for an Sr. Accounting/ Systems Consultant in our Herndon, VA office.  The Sr. Accountant/Systems Consultant will work closely with our government contracting clients to provide timely, efficient accounting and consulting support.  You will be responsible for a wide range of advisory services including coordinating the daily and monthly accounting activity of our clients and working on accounting system implementations.


  • Support client monthly financial accounting needs
  • Perform month-end close process
  • Prepare General ledger reconciliations and analysis
  • Prepare client financials statements
  • Calculate and/or review of indirect rates
  • Prepare/review and reconcile client payroll
  • Assist with the configuration, implementation, and testing of various government contracting accounting software
  • Provide training and end-user support during and after the implementation process
  • Support for system implementations to include general ledger account maintenance, financial data validations, and analysis for management reporting
  • Troubleshoot issues in financial accounting systems
  • Assists with new software deployments and existing application improvements


  • Bachelor’s degree, in Accounting or Finance preferred
  • CPA license is a plus
  • 2-3 years of recent experience in the government contract sector
  • Experience with Costpoint, Unanet or Jamis accounting software
  • Experience with ADP, Paychex, Paylocity, or another payroll service provider, a plus
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, especially Excel
  • Strong analytical and presentation skills
  • Effective oral and written communication skills

The Business Development and Account Manager is responsible for the development and performance of all sales activities in assigned market. They will provide leadership towards the achievement of maximum profitability and growth in line with company vision and values. They will also establish plans and strategies to expand the customer base in the marketing area.



  • Present and sell company products and services to current and potential clients
  • Prepare action plans and schedules to identify specific targets and to project the number of opportunities and associated revenue from efforts
  • Follow up on new leads and referrals resulting from sales activities
  • Identify sales prospects and contact these and other accounts to meet revenue goals
  • Place contact information and detail communications in CRM
  • Participate in discovery call, presentations, proposals and sales contracts and orders
  • Establish and maintain current client and potential client relationships
  • Work with consulting team to assist in resale of implementation and consulting services to new clients and existing customers
  • Manage account services through quality checks and other follow-up
  • Identify and resolve client concerns
  • Prepare a variety of status reports, including activity, closings, follow-up, and adherence to goals
  • Communicate new product and service opportunities, special developments, information, or feedback gathered through field activity to appropriate staff

  • BA/BS and 5+ years of Business Development and Account Management experience
  • Knowledge of Government Contract accounting and software systems preferred
  • Excellent customer service and sales skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, CRM, and sales software programs
